BASEBALL: Brainerd JV splits with Fergus Falls

The Brainerd junior varsity baseball team defeated Fergus Falls 11-3 in the second game of a doubleheader Friday at Mills Field.

Tyler Miller (1-1) pitched a complete game, allowing three runs, all earned, despite not allowing a hit.  He walked 12 and struck out 12.

Offensively, Miller was 3 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs. Brady Alters was 2 for 3 with a double, RBI, and scored two runs.

Luke Zontelli went 2 for 2 with three RBIs, a walk, and run scored. Mike Struthers added two RBIs. Henri Jourdan contributed three walks and a run scored.

Fergus Falls won Game One 7-0. Senior right-hander Josh Davis (1-1) pitched a complete game, allowing seven runs, six earned, on nine hits, with four walks and six strikeouts.

Alters had the only Brainerd hit.
