Area Girls Golf: Heggerston third as Patriots take second

PARK RAPIDS — Maggie Heggerston of Pequot Lakes finished third and the Patriots were runners-up in the 15-team Park Rapids Invite on Monday.

Heggerston shot an 80 and Pequot finished at 352. Savannah Stone carded an 86 and Erica Schwalbe 90 for the Patriots.

Emily Israelson finished eighth for Staples-Motley and the Cardinals placed fourth at 361. Cierra Waverek added an 89 and Tara Weyer 90 for the Cardinals.

Wadena-Deer Creek was seventh, led by Ella Harrison’s 91.

Crosby-Ironton finished 13th.

OSAKIS — Anna Poster shot a 53 to lead the Pierz Pioneers to fourth place during Monday’s Central Minnesota Conference meet.

Katie Kowalzek shot 54 for the Pioneers, which is fourth in the conference standings.
