Area Softball: Pequot blanks Wolves to stay unbeaten

WALKER — Katie White struck out 11 and faced the minimum number of batters during Pequot Lakes 14-0 non-conference victory over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Monday.

White did allow one hit, but the runner was later caught stealing.

At the plate, the sophomore pitcher went 3-4 with two runs and two doubles. Kayla Miller was 2-4 with a double and a triple for the 14-0 Patriots.

Pierz splits

EDEN VALLEY — Megan Boser was 4-7 with two runs a double and a home run for the Pierz Pioneers as they split with Eden Valley-Watkins in a Central Minnesota Conference doubleheader Monday.

Pierz dropped Game One 8-5, but bounced back with a 5-3 Game Two win.

Pierz’s Miranda Woitalla went 6-8 with two runs scored and a double and teammate Michaela Rocheleau added a double.

BLACKDUCK — Autumn Ackerman tossed a one-hit shutout through five innings and added a bases-clearing double as Pine River-Backus routed Blackduck 17-0 in an Upper Mississippi Conference game Monday.

Megan Felthouse went 3-3 with a triple and three RBIs, while scoring two runs for the Tigers. Tatum Sheley added a triple.
