COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Raiders beat Mesabi at tournament

GRAND RAPIDS — Nicole Marcy drove in six runs as the Central Lakes College Raiders defeated Mesabi Range 12-3 in the first game of the season-ending Jennie Guyer tournament Saturday.

Marcy and Becca Anderson homered for CLC. Marcy, Anderson, Hayley Hornick, Alanna Hansen, and Jenni Smolke each had two hits for the Raiders and Smolke drove in two runs. Winning pitcher Sam Harting struck out one and walked two and gave up three hits and two earned runs.

The Raiders lost to Hibbing 8-2. Kaylie Hanson collected two hits and Alanna Hansen and Marcy drove in runs. Harting walked one and struck out three.

CLC managed just three hits, including a double by Kaylie Hanson, in a 5-0 loss to North Dakota State College of Science. Harting struck out three and walked two.
