AREA GIRLS GOLF: Patriots win presection; S-M's Israelson medalist

SARTELL — The Pequot Lakes Patriots won the Presection 6-2A championship while Emily Israelson was medalist with a 74 for the Staples-Motley Cardinals on Monday.

Maggie Heggerston, who took the No. 2 spot overall with 79, was low scorer for the Patriots followed by teammate Savannah Stone, who took fifth with 86. Erika Schwalbe’s 86 for Pequot put her in seventh place.

Jessica Hawks was the low scorer for the Pierz Pioneers with 94.

Gobblers defeat Rush City

DEERWOOD — Krysta Haugly finished with an 58, and Abbie Hughes shot a 59 to lead Aitkin to victory against Rush City on Monday at Cuyuna Country Club.

The Tigers earned medalist honors, but did not have enough golfers to field a full team.

Team scores: Aitkin 256

Individual medalist: Taylor Schellbach (RC) 56
