Area Boys Tennis: Gobblers roll to 10th victory

AITKIN — The Aitkin Gobblers had victories in all four singles matches and one doubles match in a 5-2 victory over the Crookston Pirates in a non-conference meet Friday.

Alex Anderson, Dan Klucas, Lyle Nyberg and Jack Reeves all recorded singles wins for the 10-5 Gobblers.

Ryan Rosemore-Ryan Anderson notched Aitkin’s only doubles win.

“Our singles players are moving into the best play of the season right in time for sections and it’s probably our first chance to move on to the state tournament as a team,” Gobblers coach Joe Walz said. “We are a strong contender this year.”
