Area Softball: Aitkin, PR-B both fall

MORA — The Aitkin Gobblers managed just three hits in their 11-1 non-conference loss to the Mora Mustangs Thursday.

Morgan Schoonover, Jozee Fossom and Jenae Herron each had singles.

Sebeka 15, PR-B 1

PINE RIVER — Lexi Hanson and Desirae Sonenstahl both went 1-2 for the Pine River-Backus Tigers in a 15-1 non-conference loss to the Sebeka Trojans Thursday.

The Tigers, who were scheduled to play a second game against Red Lake Thursday, notched a conference win when the Warriors forfeited.

Cunningham, Pillager blast Panthers

PARKERS PRAIRIE — Morgan Cunningham blasted two home runs, one a grand slam, and the Pillager Huskies swept both ends of a Park Region Conference doubleheader over Parkers Prairie Thursday.

In Game One, the Huskies amassed 21 hits, 10 of them doubles that hit the fence leading to a 12-6 Pillager win.

Hannah Horn, Lacy Hiltner, Nicole Mast and Kalley Ladouceur all hit a pair of doubles with Horn finishing 4-5 and Hiltner 3-3. Cunningham and Carly Bell added the other two doubles.

Pillager won Game Two 11-7 behind Cunningham’s two-run homer and grand slam. She finished 5-6 at the plate.
