Warriors Softball: Warriors spotless in the CLC

SARTELL — Nikki Anderson dominated on the mound and at the plate Thursday as the Brainerd Warriors wrapped up regular-season play with a 9-0 Central Lakes Conference win over the Sartell Sabres.

Anderson allowed one hit and no walks in seven innings, while striking out 13. She was 3-4 at the plate.

Chelsie Manton went 2-5 with a double and three RBIs and Kaitlyn Bible finished 2-3.

The Warriors (18-1) wrapped up the conference championship earlier in the week and finished 14-0 to move their conference winning streak to 31 games.

“This is the second year in a row we have swept the conference,” said assistant coach Dan Bzdok. “More than the record itself, we’re proud of the consistency of play the girls have given us.

“They come ready to play every game and we’ve been getting good production all the way through the lineup.”

Anderson figured in the decision for every game this year also finishing 18-1.

“Nikki Anderson was once again superb today and has been on fire lately which is going to give us a great boost going into the playoffs,” said Bzdok.

The Warriors, the likely No. 1 seed in Section 8-3A, would open postseason play Wednesday at 6 p.m. when they would host the winner of a play-in game scheduled for earlier that afternoon at Adamson Field in Brainerd.
