TRACK AND FIELD: Lyscio qualifies for outdoor championships

INDIANAPOLIS — Brainerd High School graduate Tom Lyscio of the College of St. Scholastica men’s track and field team qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships which start Thursday at Claremont, Calif.

Lyscio was 19th out of the 20 qualifiers for the hammer throw. He had a season-best mark of 184-10 at the St. Norbert Invitational on April 21. Lyscio is the first male in program history to qualify for the outdoor championships and only the second male to qualify for a national championship meet.

Hammer throw competition begins Friday.
