Area Golf News: D&D Exteriors builds lead

D&D Exteriors tore the roof off of US Bank with a 30.5-5.5 victory May 24 to claim the men’s league lead at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.

Last week’s leader, Edward Jones, defeated Applebee’s 27.5-16.5, but it wasn’t enough to hold off D&D, which now holds a 1.75-point lead.

BSN Sports moved up two spots to claim third thanks to a 29-15 over Mulligan’s.

The second of four team events vs. the field gross and net on the Dutch Legacy Course.

Legacy women

Bonnie Brandon made the longest putt on her way to shooting the lowest score on the Par 3 Course during the May 22 women’s night at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.

Melissa “One Putt” Berg had the lowest number of putts and Sue Beck was closest to the pin.

Rachel Martin carded the lowest round on Bobby’s front nine. Colie Lence needed the fewest amount of putts, while Pat Kaminski was closest to the pin and Louise Hunt made the longest putt.

Madden’s women

Dawn Wiebusch’s closest to the pin shot helped her claim first during the May 22 stableford event at Madden’s women’s league.

Deb Prazak was second, one point behind.

GVL women

Cindy Clow, Dona Motzko, Chris Lee and Cathy Seczko tied the team of Marily Sobiech, Joan McBrien, Candace Prigge and Rosie Brown for first place in the May 22 scramble event during Grand View Lodge’s Women’s Outing.

Katie Wallace, Judi Moravec, Connie Lazor and Barb Wenschlag finished second followed by the third-place team of Barb Elmquist, Pearl Peterson, Blanche McMenmen and Chris Niemi.

Wallace sank the longest putt and Sczko was closest to the pin.

The June 5 Women’s Outing will be at the Preserve. June 13 will be the next Coed Outing at the Pines.

Whitefish women

Anita Stensby and Mimi Swanson each shot 32s to tie for first in flight A in the individual low net on odd holes event May 23 during the Whitefish women’s 18-hole league.

Barb Hanson and Enga Wodziak tied for third with 33s.

Cheryl Bontrager and Susan Finley each shot 33 to top Joan Kantos and Nancy Schmidt for the flight B title.

Darlene Bonnemma and Sandra Pohl tied for first in flight C with Sharon Keister finishing third.

Hanson, Swanson and Maxine Riches each shot 69s for low net. Hanson, Barb Holubar, Riches and Judy Eastwood had birdies with Riches and Stensby making chip-ins.
