AMATEUR BASEBALL: Big inning helps Bees snap Ultimate

A 5-run fourth inning propelled the Brainerd Bees to a 5-3 win over the Ultimate Sports Snappers in Lakewood League action Wednesday night at Adamson Field.

The Bees’ big inning featured Nick Rardin’s 2-run single, Kevin Peterson’s RBI single and Justin Huether’s sacrifice fly. Brainerd’s other run scored on an error.

Winning pitcher Joel Martin walked three, struck out two, allowed three runs, two earned, and three hits in five innings.

Blake Peterson went two innings, struck out two, and gave up one hit.

Drew Sannes earned a save. He pitched two innings, walked one, and struck out one.

Losing pitcher Logan Birr struck out 12 and walked one in a complete game.
