VFW BASEBALL: Flyers sweep Brainerd sophomores

Brainerd was swept by Little Falls 3-1 and 8-0 in a sophomore VFW doubleheader Thursday at Adamson Field.

In Game One, Little Falls pitcher Gabe Ploof fanned 15 Brainerd batsmen, while scattering seven hits and walking three, to earn the 8-inning victory. He outlasted Brainerd starter T.J. Graumann, who struck out 11, allowed four hits and walked three. All three Little Falls runs were unearned.

In Game Two, Adam Hallberg limited Brainerd to one infield single while striking out 10 to pick up the complete-game victory for the Flyers. Dillon Solid started and suffered the loss for Brainerd.
