AMATEUR BASEBALL: Hoge's hit propels Miners past Randall
RANDALL — Mark Hoge’s 2-run single in the top of the 10th was the eventual game-winner as the Cuyuna Range Miners rallied past the Randall Cubs 7-5 in a 10-inning Victory League game Sunday.
It was the second Sunday in a row that Cuyuna Range has won an extra-inning game.
Andrew Hartshorn pitched all 10 innings for the Miners, allowing seven hits, walking seven and fanning eight. He hit two batters.
Randall trailed 4-1 until Dusty Parker hit a 3-run homer in the seventh that tied the game 4-4.
The Cubs forged ahead 5-4 in the eighth, scoring on an error.
The Miners tied it 5-5 in the top of the ninth on Jordan Hunstad’s RBI single.
