Aitkin remains unbeaten, knocks Pierz from undefeated ranks

AITKIN — Undefeated Aitkin dealt Pierz its first loss of the season 7-6 in Game One of Tuesday’s doubleheader. Game Two, scheduled for five innings, was tied 7-7 after seven innings when it was suspended because of darkness.

Aitkin improved its record to 4-0-2 while Pierz drops to 6-1-1.

In the first game, Isaac Collins led off the bottom of the seventh with a double, went to third on a wild pitch strikeout and scored the winning run after losing pitcher Cody Weiss intentionally walked the next two batters to load the bases and then walked a third batter in a row.
