Bronco League: National League wins high-scoring game

Despite Tanner Stenglein’s three RBI off two hits — a triple and a double — his American League squad of all-stars fell to the National League 18-12 at Monday’s 57th annual Bronco League Midsummer Classic at Bane Park in Brainerd.

Matt Schoenecker earned NL MVP honors by going 1-3 with a two-run double and making a highlight-reel diving catch.

Peyton Melby struck out two and walked two in one inning of work for the AL, while Hunter Wicklund struck out three in two innings while giving up no hits and walking one for the NL.

Noah True notched an RBI single for the NL.

The American League was represented by players from the Royals, Tigers, and Twins, while the National League sent players from the Mets, Reds, and Rockies.
