Pony League Baseball: Pederson leads American League in Rout of NL squad

Chris Pederson went 2-3 with a double, triple, stolen base, and RBI while striking out five and allowing only one hit in two innings of work as the American League routed the National League 9-1 in Monday’s 13th annual Pony League Mid-Summer Classic at Bane Park in Brainerd.

Dallon Saiko went 2-3 with a double, two RBIs, and a pair of stolen bases for the American League. Andrew Schroeder also drove in a pair of runs for the AL.

Josh Howieson led the National League by going 2-2 while driving in a run and notching a stolen base. The NL MVP notched four strike outs, walked one, and allowed a pair of hits through two innings. Dylann Vanek went 1-2 with a stolen base for the NL.

The American League was represented by players from the Blue Jays, Orioles, White Sox, and Yankees while the National League players were representing the Dodgers, Mets, Pirates, and Red Sox.
