YOUTH BASEBALL: Aqua Sox, Tigers, White Sox playoff champs

The Aqua Sox, Tigers and White Sox won playoff championships at Bane Park in the Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department’s youth baseball leagues this summer.

The second-seeded Aqua Sox downed the No. 1 seeded Lugnuts 14-9 in Mustang League action Tuesday. The Aqua Sox were coached by Kurt Wicklund and the Lugnuts by Matt Burton.

In the Bronco League championship, the No. 2 Tigers defeated the No. 5 Mets 12-9 on Wednesday. The Tigers were coached by Mark Melby and the Mets by Ted Goggleye. The Reds, coached by Dan True, were the regular-season champions.

The No. 1 White Sox won the Pony League championship with a 10-4 win over the No. 2 Orioles on Wednesday. The White Sox were coached by Brian Flanagan and the Orioles by Cody Stange.
