Biathlon: Christiansen wins class

Cam Christiansen of Nisswa won the boys class at the July 26 state level competition at the 9.8-meter mass start roller ski biathlon course in Elk River.

Christiansen, a member of the Nisswa Northwest Biathlon Club, finished the course in 39.31.

Jenna Ruzich of Baxter placed second in the youth women’s class with a time of 38:06.

Pelle Christiansen was second in the master’s class with a 44:07.

Ty Hadrits of Brainerd finished sixth in the youth men’s class with a time of 34:12. He was followed by Zean Baker of Nisswa in seventh place with a time of 34:42.

The next competition will be the National Summer Championships Aug. 11-12 in Jericho, Vt.
