GIRLS TENNIS: Warriors sweep Sartell in conference opener

SARTELL — Brainerd’s doubles teams did not lose a single game as all three won in straight sets by 6-0, 6-0 scores in the Warriors’ 7-0 sweep over Sartell in a Central Lakes Conference opener Tuesday.

Megan Hintz-Caitlin Steffen triumphed at No. 1 doubles with the No. 2 win going to Morgan Steffen-Natalie Comeau and Ashley Fitterer-Brooke Mimmack taking the No. 3 doubles match.

In singles, Sara Wennerstrand defeated Elizabeth Plaine 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 and Chloe Glassman won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. Rosemary Hunter was victorious at No. 3 and Kristina Anderson at No. 4.

Brainerd junior varsity winners included Lauren Rud at singles and Sara Dick-Maiah Maki and Shayla Metz-Hannah Moen in doubles.
