BOYS SOCCER: Cardinals blank Warriors

ALEXANDRIA — Brandon Hedlund stopped six shots for Brainerd as the Warriors fell to Alexandria 1-0 in a Central Lakes Conference match behind a Nick Heseltine goal Tuesday night.

“We possessed the ball for 75 percent of the game, and it was our game to lose,” Warriors assistant coach Erich Heppner said. “We had them on their heels but couldn’t put it away.”

The loss dropped Brainerd to 0-5-0 overall.

“We are getting better every game, and the wins will come soon; and we will feel better when they do.”
