Brainerd blanks Apollo for the win

ST. CLOUD — Jenna Degen contributed five ace serves and 12 set assists toward the Brainerd Warriors 3-0 Central Lakes Conference victory over St. Cloud Apollo Thursday.

Hannah Kangas served two aces and had 15 set assists.

“Tonight was a game of aces,” said Warriors coach Jared Diem. “We had 17 aces tonight and that may be a Brainerd record in a single game. When that starts to happen, we’re getting a lot of points without doing a lot of work.”

Tedi Ramberg tallied three ace serves to go with six kills and Courtney Ryan added two ace serves with eight kills and six digs.

“What I really loved about this game was that it was balanced game,” said Diem. “The stats are equal across the board and it shows that the girls are making the best of every play.”
