BOYS SOCCER: Spuds nip Warriors in overtime

BAXTER — Joe Anderholm made 11 saves for the Brainerd Warriors as they lost 3-2 in overtime against the unbeaten Moorhead Spuds in a Section 8-2A game at Southdale Field Saturday afternoon.

Mohamed Majed scored in overtime to give the 5-0 Spuds the victory.

Kale Wurdeman and Brayden Campbell each scored goals for the Warriors and Adam Bouchard collected an assist.

It was another hard-fought, tough-luck game,” said Warriors coach Tony Smith. “We were playing well enough to win but unfortunately there were too many mistakes. We were giving away easy goals and at some point we’re going to have to break through and come out on the other side.”
