Cross Country: Warriors drop time at Lucky Lindy

LITTLE FALLS — Allison Kosobud, with a career-best time of 15:18.8, finished 11th overall as the Brainerd girls placed fourth at the Lucky Lindy Invite at Little Falls Golf Course Thursday.

Mattia Hendrickson registered a 15:30.7 to take 15th and lead the Little Falls girls to ninth.

Gerrit Garberich turned in a career best 17:39.1 to lead Brainerd boys to a ninth-place finish.

Peder Smith, Zean Baker, Connor Gunsbury, and Danny Schoonover also turned in career bests for the Warrior boys.

Matt Massmann led the Flyers boys with a 17:22.7 and Korey Zetah registered a 17:33.4 for Staples-Motley.

“Aliison’s time was the second fastest by a Brainerd girl at the Little Falls Golf Course,” Brainerd head coach Dave Herath said. “Having three runners finish in under 16 minutes was a great feat for the girls tonight, and having the 4th and 5th runners really come on to help fill the gap was great, too.

“With the boys, we just had a fantastic day. We’re really dropping time, and for the first time in three years we’ve had four boys that finished in under 18 minutes.”
