Warrior Tennis: Warriors sweep the Eagles

ST. CLOUD — Chloe Glassman won in three sets to help the Brainerd Warriors to a 7-0 victory over St. Cloud Apollo-Sauk Rapids in a Central Lakes Conference meet Thursday.

All three doubles teams won in straight sets losing just one game in the three matches.

“The girls played well,” said Brainerd head coach Ellen Fussy. “We always want the girls to play as well as they can play, even if it’s against an opponent they expect to beat.

“We also wanted to play well to prepare for the coming week beginning with the Moorhead tournament on Saturday and then three meets next week.”

Brainerd’s junior varsity saw singles wins from Shayla Metz, Sara Dick and Hailey Hinricks.

JV doubles winners were Lauren Rud-Maiah Maki, Clarie Siekas-Hannah Moen, Mariaka Hallo-Megan Wroolie, Karlene Knutson-Hannah Spitzley, Maura Halverson-Maddie Exsted, Gretchen Gramer-Abby Thorkelson, Jenna Swenson-Molly West and Emma Johnson-Kallie Voss.
