Area Football: Jansson throws for two scores in Cardinals loss

STAPLES — Kyle Jansson threw for two scores and Michael Beach ran for one in a 27-18 Heart O’ Lakes Conference loss for Staples-Motley to Warroad Friday night in Staples.

Jansson connected with Ryan Johnson on a 39 yard strike to open the scoring in the first quarter and hooked up with Zach Fietek for a 21 yard scoring pass to start the second quarter.

Beach scored on a one yard burst to give the Cardinals an 18-14 lead. The Warriors Kedon Sweetney then score two of his four touchdowns to put the game away for Warroad.

Tackle cancer night will be next Friday for Staples-Motley with proceeds going to the Randy Shaver and Community Field.
