SWIMMING AND DIVING: Beachy sets school record in Cardinals' defeat

STAPLES — Jaelin Beachy set a school record, won two individual events and was on two winning relays in the Staples-Motley Cardinals’ 88-76 loss to Fosston in a non-conference meet Tuesday.

Beachy set a school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.95 and won the 50 freestyle. She was also on the winning 200 medley relay with Sarah Holm, Jenessa Iverson and Kali Klimek as well as the 400 freestyle relay with Klimek, Emily Hirschey and Holm.

Klimek triumphed in the 500 free while Kylie Bendson won the 200 free and Shania Holst won the 200 IM.
