Area Golf News: Jedinak wins twice
Kristy Jedinak made the longest putt on her way to a low-score 34 Sept. 18 on the Par 3 Course during women’s night at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.
Jessica Gangle and Janet Jones used the least amount of putts and Wendy Shamp was closest to the pin on the Par 3.
Rachel Martin’s 48 was the low score on the Dutch Legacy back nine. Sue Carroll had the least putts, Debbie Briggs made the longest putt and Jo Ellen Reeck was closest to the pin.
■ Whitefish women
Barb Holubar beat out Anita Stensby in a tiebreaker to win Flight A in the Sept. 19 O-N-E-S game during the Whitefish women’s 18-hole league.
Mimi Swanson placed third in the top flight.
Nancy Einan also needed a tiebreaker to win Flight B. She topped Sandy Meyer with Sharon Sullivan coming in third.
Darlene Bonnema dominated Flight C. Mary Jean Herdey place second and Sharon Keister — in a tiebreaker — placed third.
Einan and Meyer tied for the day’s low net with 68s.
Holubar made a birdie and a chip-in. Meyer had a chip-in birdie on hole 7 and added another chip in on No. 9. Mimi Swanson also recorded a chip-in during the league’s final outing.
■ BHS homecoming promotion at Madden’s
During Brainerd High School’s homecoming weekend of Oct. 5-7, Madden’s Resort will donate a portion of each green fee to the Brainerd Sports Boosters.
Golfers playing Madden’s Pine Beach East or West courses who mention the homecoming special will have $10 of their $34 green fee donated to the booster club. Green fee includes a cart.
Mention the homecoming promotion at Madden’s Driving Range and $5 of the $10 purchase will also go toward the booster club.
