Warrior Girls Tennis: Warriors sweep doubles in loss to Willmar

WILLMAR — The Brainerd Warriors swept all three doubles matches, but couldn’t come up with a singles win in Tuesday’s 4-3 Central Lakes Conference loss to the Willmar Cardinals.

Rosemary Hunter almost pulled out a win at No. 2 singles before losing to Cayle Hovland 6-2, 6-7 (7-5), 7-5.

The Warriors’ junior varsity won 9-2.

Singles winners were Sarah Dick, Hannah Moen, Hailey Hinrichs, Gretchen Gramer and Jenna Swenson.

Doubles winners were Shayla Matz-Claire Siekas, Anna Fischer-Lisa Doubben, Maddie Exsted-Gretchen Grammer, Abby Torkelson-Karlene Knutson, Jenna Swenson-Megan Wroolie and Hannah Spitzley-Maura Halverson.
