Email

Overall winner Owen Baird was one of 75 runners who braved chilly winds and early morning traces of snow in the second annual Brainerd High School Homecoming 5-kilometer race Saturday.

Baird won with a time of 18:11, beating runner-up and previous course record holder Brent Gunsbury by just more than a minute.

Elizabeth Stokes, a junior high cross country runner, paced the female race in 21:37, shaving nine seconds off the previous record.
