COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Three Raiders players of week

Central Lakes College volleyball players were named MCAC Northern Division players of the week.

Hitter of the week was Lindsay Monson, a 6-foot freshman from Pierz. She added 37 kills (3.7 per game) to her season total as sixth-ranked CLC topped three Northern Division opponents last week.

Monson had a stellar .452 attack percentage, including .684 with 13 kills against Fond Du Lac. She also had 12 blocks (1.2/game) ,19 digs (1.9/game) and 5 serve aces.

One of the setters of the week was CLC’s Tiffany Hartung, a freshman from Holdingford. She led CLC by handing out 90 assists (9.0/game), including a high of 43 in a 3-1 win against Mesabi Range.

Libero of the week was Sarah Miller, a freshman from Cross Lake. She helped the Raiders (17-5, 10-0 North) to three straight wins with stellar defensive play.

Miller accumulated 42 digs (4.66/game), including 22 in a win over Mesabi Range, and is key to the Raiders’ serve receive as the primary passer in all rotations.

Miller also served 94 percent for the week.
