JUNIOR HOCKEY: Goalie helps North Stars secure first victory

ALEXANDRIA — Ian Shidlofsky stopped 45 shots as the Breezy Point North Stars secured the first win in franchise history Friday night as they nipped the Alexandria Blizzard 3-2 in a North American3 Hockey League game.

Trailing 1-0, Kyle Pacheco, Evan Anderson and Kyle Eberwein scored consecutively for the Starts in the second period. Pacheco, Anderson and Eberwein also received assists along with teammates Turk Scatliff, Spencer Bajko and Brandon Adler.

The Stars won despite being outshot 47-23.

ALEXANDRIA — The Stars lost to the Blizzard 5-3 Saturday night as Shidlofsky saved 37 of 42 shots.

Stars’ goals were by Adler, Austin Williams and Bajko. Assists went to Anthony Martinez, Anderson, Kyle Whipple and Nick Shear.

Breezy Point (1-8-0 in the West Division) hosts the Granite City Lumberjacks at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26-27.
