AREA FOOTBALL: Millner, Pierz running game dominates in rout

PIERZ — Tyler Millner rushed 14 times for 116 yards as the third-seeded Pierz rushing attack totaled 400 yards in a 46-8 win over No. 6 Breckenridge in the Section 6-2A quarterfinals Tuesday night.

Josh Lanners was limited due to injuries but still managed to score twice. Robby Skiba added 76 yards on nine carries for the Pioneers while TJ Hoheisel scored on a 44-yard interception return.

The section playoffs have been familiar territory for Pierz, which has not lost a section opener in 10 years and is the defending Section 6-2A champion. The Pioneers now hold a 13-2 playoff record since moving to 6-2A in 2007.
