COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Monson, Hartung, Kapphahn players of week

Central Lakes College Raiders Lindsay Monson and Tiffany Hartung and Morgan Kapphahn of Fergus Falls were named MCAC players of the week ending Oct. 20.

Monson was the Northern Division hitter of the week. The 6-foot freshman from Pierz had 34 kills (3.4/game), including a season high 20 in a 3-2 win over Division II Dakota County. Monson hit .378 for the week with only six errors in 74 attempts for the Northern Division champions.

Hartung was the Northern Division setter of the week. The 5-7 freshman from Holdingford recorded 85 assists (8.5/game), including 45 in a 3-2 division loss to Northland and had 27 digs (2.7/gm) in the two matches.

In the Southern Division, Kapphahn was the all-around player of the week. The 5-7 sophomore from Wadena helped Minnesota State-FF (12-13, 9-3 South) clinch second place in the Southern Division with a 3-1 win over St. Cloud. Kapphahn averaged 2.5 kills/game and 2.25 digs/ game while serving 90 percent with two aces.
