Biathlon: Ruzich, Baker place high

Jenna Ruzich of Baxter and Zean Baker of Nisswa both secured second-place finishes in Sunday’s 16th annual Rollerski Biathlon Fall Festival.

The morning event was a 9.8-kilometer individual start pursuit race with four shooting ranges.

Jacob Ellingson of Hopkins was the top young man finisher for the 9.8-kilometer individual start pursuit race by shooting 2, 0, 1, 0 in 29:45.

Baker fifth in the class and eighth overall by shooting 2, 2, 4, 2 in 35:11. Taking sixth in his class and ninth overall was Ty Hadrits of Brainerd, who shot 1, 1, 3 2 in 35:26. Cam Christiansen of Nisswa placed seventh in the class and 11th overall.

Evan Ingebrigetson of Baxter was 14th overall in the Masters men class with 3, 4, 3, 3 in 44:05.

Ruzich was second in the junior women class and fourth overall for woman with a 4, 5, 2, 1 in 41:20.

She won her class in the afternoon, event which was a 7.2-K mass start relay format. She shot 1, 0 in 25:08 for second overall.

Baker placed second in his class and third overall in the afternoon with Christiansen placing fifth in class and 10th overall.

The next event will be in November at West Yellowstone, Montana.
