College Cross Country: C-I's Gustafson honored

NEW ULM — Stacey Gustafson, a Crosby-Ironton graduate, helped the St. Scholastica women’s cross country team win the UMAC Championship meet for the 12th consecutive year Saturday at Flandreau State Park.

Gustafson finished ninth in 24:19.

The Saints had seven runners finish in the top 11 and won with a total of 22 points. The University of Minnesota, Morris was second with 54 points. North Central University was third with 94 points.

Gustafson earned All-UMAC accolades for finishing in the top 12.

The Saints will look to qualify for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships next at the NCAA Central Regional Championships Nov. 10 in Northfield.
