COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Ring makes All-NSIC team

Brainerd High School graduate Colby Ring of Minnesota-Duluth was named to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division first team defense.

The junior inside linebacker leads the Bulldogs in tackles for the second straight year. So far he has recorded 28 solo stops and 45 assisted tackles. He has 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception, one pass breakup, two quarterback hurries and has forced two fumbles.

The five-time defending NSIC North Division champion Bulldogs (10-1) open NCAA Division II tournament play at noon Saturday with a first-round matchup at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo.
