Area Girls Hockey: Eggena, Lightning slash Panthers

BREEZY POINT — Kaylyn Eggena recorded two goals and an assist to power the Northern Lakes Lightning to a 4-1 victory over the Park Rapids Panthers Thursday.

Alex Palms scored the Lightnings’ first goal and added an assist. Mariah Reed tallied the other Northern Lakes goal.

Kat Jensen secured 11 saves to even the Lightnings’ record at 1-1.

BENSON — Halley Mass scored two goals and Emery Dumpprope collected three assists as the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek Blue Devils defeated Morris-Benson Area 8-1 Tuesday.

Blue Devils goalie Angela Hanson made 14 saves and her team outshot MBA 40-15.

Other goals for the Blue Devils came from Ashlee Helseth, Sara Einerwold, Abigail Ecker, Morgan Zeise, Brooke Umland and Katelyn Barthel.

Helseth, Katelyn Peters, Kylee Damm, Einerwold, Zeise, Kylee Helling and Barthel received assists.
