AREA GIRLS HOCKEY: First period propels Blue Devils past LOW

BAUDETTE — A 3-goal first period propelled the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek Blue Devils past the Lake of the Woods Bears 5-1 in a non-conference game Saturday.


Katelyn Barthel, Halley Maas and Kylee Damm scored in the opening 17 minutes for the Blue Devils, who outshot the Bears 35-11. Brooke Umland and Sam Killian scored the Blue Devils’ other goals.
