ASS LAKE — Pine River-Backus’ Beau Howard scored a game-high 32

points to surpass 1,000 career points Thursday in a 91-70 Northland Conference loss to Cass Lake-Bena.

Howard, who began the season with 977 points, also added eight assists and went 10-for-10 at the free throw line.

Zach Struss contributed 16 points and led the team with eight rebounds, while Trevon Pederson finished with 13.

Howard, a senior guard, surpassed Micah Eveland, who finished with 1,007 career points, to land in seventh on PR-B’s all-time scoring list.

WADENA — Wadena-Deer Creek, led by the scoring of Andrew and Evan VanErp, moved past Sebeka by 62-48 in a non-conference game Thursday.

Andrew VanErp finished with 22 points followed by Evan VanErp’s 20 points. Dylan Dumproppe added 12 for the Wolverines, who held a 13-point halftime lead.
