Area Boys Basketball: Ranked Rangers open with win

CROSBY — Will Goodwin scored 18 points to lead Class 2A’s 10th-ranked Crosby-Ironton Rangers to a 68-60 Mid-State Conference victory over the Detroit Lakes Lakers Friday.

Daniel Hudrlik posted 15 points and 10 rebounds. Caleb Baker added 11 points and six assists and Riley Jacobs scored 17 points for C-I in its season opener.

Goodwin added four steals.

Brett Peterson scored 10 points and Travis Johnson added eight points for the Patriots.

Evan VanErp led the Wolverines with 16 points and five assists, followed by Andrew VanErp’s 14 points.
