Area Girls Basketball: Cardinals capture win in Crosby

CROSBY — Kelly Pearson scored 16 points as Class 2A’s sixth-ranked Staples-Motley Cardinals won their third straight with Tuesday’s 67-44 Mid-State Conference victory over the Crosby-Ironton Rangers.

The Rangers saw their three-game win streak snapped despite Shannon Lundgren’s 15 rebounds, seven points, five assists and four steals.

MacKenzie Holst added 14 points and Mikayla Wing 10 for the Cardinals.

Marlee Moore added nine points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots and Emily Beltran finished with seven points, six assists and seven steals for Lake Region.
