ST. CLOUD — Maria West led Brainerd with 12 points and Mikinze Boeder added 10 in the Brainerd Warriors 51-46 loss to St. Cloud Tech in a Central Lakes Conference game Thursday.

“The girls played hard — it was a physical, fast game that went back and forth,” said Brainerd head coach Brian McAllister. “They (Tech) got some offensive rebounds that hurt us with second-chance points and we had 24 turnovers against their pressure.

“The girls played a great, hard game and I’m proud of the way they played. Things like a turnover or giving up an offensive rebound (to Tech) at critical points is what hurt us tonight.”

Brainerd trailed 24-20 at halftime and was within three points with 5.5 seconds left.

Brainerd point guard Jenna Degen did not play because of a concussion.
