DANCE TEAM: Warriors finish second in CLC jazz competition

WILLMAR — The Brainerd Warriors accumulated five rank points and 391 total points to finish second in the Central Lakes Conference jazz competition Friday night.

Sartell won the title with 4.5 rank points and 392 total.

St. Cloud Tech was third with eight rank points and 373 total.

Sauk Rapids finished fourth with 12 ranks and 320 total.

Brainerd was in first place entering Friday’s meet, having won the kick portion of CLC competition Nov. 27.

“We danced so well tonight,” Warriors coach Cindy Clough said. “We were proud of our athletes in both their effort and performance.

“We thought we had a shot at the win but took second by 5/10ths rank. We’re shaking it off and looking toward (Saturday) in Maple Grove.”

Next: Brainerd at Maple Grove Invite 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15.
