Area Girls Hockey: Monson scores two as Lighting win

WADENA — Erika Monson netted two goals in the third period as Northern Lakes downed Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek 5-1 in Tuesday’s non-conference match.

Megan Snyder added a goal and an assist for the Lightning and Alex Palm and Kim Jessen also scored.

Kylee Helling scored the only goal for the Blue Devils on an assist from Abigail Ecker and Sarah Najjar.

Blue Devils goaltender Angel Hanson totaled 26 saves and Kat Jensen kicked away 14 of the 15 shots she faced for the Lightning.
