Boys Basketball: Balanced Brainerd bounces Bemidji

BEMIDJI — Thirteen players scored to help the Brainerd Warriors clinch an 83-64 win over the winless Bemidji Lumberjacks in a Section 8-4A game Tuesday.

Marcus Comstock tallied 19 points and six rebounds helping the Warriors improve to 4-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season.

Jack Sauer followed with 12 points and Ian Haug added 11 points for Brainerd, which shot 50 percent (30-of-60) from the field and 81 percent from the line.

“We came out and executed our game plan extremely well on the road against a section team,” said Warriors head coach Scott Stanfield. “We shot well from 3-point range and played well defensively. We were able to play a lot of kids, which was fun to see.”
