AREA BOYS BASKETBALL: Rangers win own holiday tournament

CROSBY — Caleb Baker, Garrett Van Horn and Daniel Hudrlik each scored 14 points to lead Crosby-Ironton past Moose Lake-Willow River 68-49 in the championship game of the Rangers’ holiday tournament Saturday.

Baker, who dished out nine assists, and Will Goodwin, who scored 11 points, made the all-tournament team for C-I, which has won six in a row.

Hudrlik contributed nine rebounds as C-I improved to 7-1.

LITTLE FALLS — Collin Eckman totalled 23 points, six rebounds and four assists as Little Falls fell to Upsala 71-67 in overtime in the championship game of the Little Falls tournament Saturday.

Jake Scott added 20 points and four steals for the Flyers, who were outscored 16-12 in overtime. He scored seven points in overtime, as did Upsala’s Christian Pekarek, who finished with 18.

LITTLE FALLS — Jordan Redmond scored 21 points and made the all-tournament team as the Pequot Lakes Patriots lost to the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters 69-60 in the third-place game in the Little Falls tournament Saturday.

Travis Jacobson added 18 points for the Patriots.

Patrick Knoblauch scored 20 of his 29 points in the first half for the Mainstreeters.

Litchfield, ranked fifth in Class 2A, was led by Zach Whitchurch’s 15 points.
