AREA BOYS BASKETBALL: Balance leads Rangers past Wadena-DC

WADENA — Balanced scoring, led by Will Goodwin and Daniel Hudrlik with 13 points apiece, helped the Crosby-Ironton Rangers to a 63-48 win over the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines in a Mid-State Conference game Friday night.

Riley Jacobs added 11 followed by Caleb Baker with nine and Trenton Blom with eight for the Rangers, who improve to 8-2 overall, 3-0 in conference play.

Dylan Dumproppe led the Wolverines with 13 and Jacob Goeden added 10.

AITKIN — With the game tied at 45 with 10.2 seconds left, Aitkin fouled Rush City’s Brandon Koehnle on a three-point shot.

Koehnle sank all three free throws to down the Gobblers 48-45 in Friday’s Great River Conference game as Aitkin extended its skid to four games.

Nathan Ehnstrom tallied 14 points for the Gobblers.
