Men's College Basketball: Raiders roll over Rainy

INTERNATIONAL FALLS — Ten different players found the scoring column, led by Bryan Cichaba’s 17 points, in the Central Lakes College Raiders 97-58 Northern Division victory over Rainy River Friday.

CLC shot 7-of-8 from 3-point range. Andre Thomas scored 16 points and dished out six assists. John Jedneak scored 12 as did Kevin Kuefler, who added 10 rebounds and six assists.

“The keys for us were we only had four turnovers in the second half,” said Raiders head coach Jim Russell. “We ended up with 14 for the game, but just four in the second half. We were 7-of-8 from 3-point and still scored 97 points so that showed we can still put up some points without bombing it from long range. But the key stat was we outrebounded them 49-32. So that’s a good start for us.”

The “start” Russell referred to was CLC’s first division game. The Raiders improve to 8-5 overall and 1-0 in the Division. They face Hibbing 3 p.m. Saturday.
