MEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Late 3-pointer nips Raiders

HIBBING — Marcellis Beard drained a game-winning 3-pointer to push Hibbing past Central Lakes 54-53 in Saturday’s Northern Division game.

Kevin Kuefler led Central Lakes in scoring with 18 points while Andre Thomas added 10.

“They made some shots at the end of the game and we missed some free throws,” Raiders coach Jim Russell said.

John Jedneak grabbed six boards for a Raider team that was outrebounded 47-36 by Hibbing, which snapped CLC’s 5-game win streak.

“They ran their game plan to a T,” Russell said. “Hopefully, we learn from this and move on.”
