ALPINE SKIING: Stone leads Warrior girls to first-place finish

KIMBALL — Savannah Stone battled a course that had icy and soft conditions and raced to a time of 47.31, which was good for a first-place finish for Brainerd at the St. Cloud/Annandale Invite at Powder Ridge on Tuesday.

Alex Stone finished third at 53.71, Ashley Fitterer was fourth at 54.49 and Emily Aga and Grace McGuire also placed in the top 10 for Brainerd.

“We always have high expectations of Savannah and she didn’t let us down,” said Warriors coach Jim Ruttger. “They had to deal with a lot of different conditions and to place four in the top seven says a lot about the girls team.”
